I love this snapshot of Irina

Day 3 – Bike ride across the Golden Gate Bridge

Day 2 – O’Reilly Fluent Conference, Chinatown, City Lights bookstore, Coit Tower / Telegraph Hill

Daniella asked me to take her stuffed dog with me to San Francisco and take photos everywhere we go. This is day 1 – trip from Pittsburgh to San Francisco

First beautiful day in a while – we decided to checkout melting ice on the river.

I decided to go to the North Side at 6 AM to get some night shots of Pittsburgh on black and white film. All these photographs were shot on Kodak 400CN film with a Canon Elan 7E camera and a 50mm f/1.4 lens. Some of the exposures were as long as 15 seconds. All photos are straight out of the camera – I did not edit them at all.

We ran the Help-Portrait Pittsburgh event for the 4th year in a row on December 7, 2013. As always, it has been an amazing experience! In this day and age it is hard to believe that there are people who have never been photographed! Huge thanks to Kevin Lorenzi for doing 99% of the organizational work, Allegro Hearth Bakery and Whole Foods of Pittsburgh for donating food to make the event more pleasant for everyone. As a side note, these are cell phone snapshots of the original printed images:)

Huge thanks to Rhaina Taylor for second-shooting for me on such a short notice and for doing such an amazing job! This was my first time shooting at Bill Chisnel Productions – what an awesome location and Bill is the nicest guy in the world!
